LYRICS
I go to a little church way out in the country,
The people they love to sing, Lord they love to sing, they love to sing,
They sing away their trouble and they sing away their pain,
Clap their hands and they praise His name,
Oh they praise Him,
They praise his name,
And they sing,
Rock of ages, cleft for me,
Amazing grace and He set me free, oh He set me free.
He set me free from my worry, set me free from my care,
In just a short while I'll be with Him up there,
I will be with Him, I will be there,
And I'll sing rock of ages, cleft for me,
Amazing grace and He set me free, oh He set me free.
So come on out to the country, come give it a try,
You've got nothing to lose but the tear in your eye, the tear in your eye.
Little Country Church is a song about the little Day Creek chapel, and the people who filled it. The chapel is no longer there; it was replaced by a much larger building as it could no longer house the growing congregation.

I Found Him On My Knees (Click here to listen)
I found Him on my knees out in the pouring down rain,
I found Him in my need, in the middle of my pain,
All my pain, all my pain, my suffering and pain.
I found Him there and I know He cares,
And I will never doubt again,
I found Him there and He took care,
He washed away my sin, all my sin was washed in the pouring down rain that day.
Jonah found Him in the belly of a whale down in the Sea,
And Daniel found him in a lions den, down on his knees,
Meshach, Shadrach, and Abendnego,
They found Him in the fire,
As the flames all around them grew higher and higher,
But I found Him on my knees out in the pouring down rain,
I found Him in my need, in the middle of my pain,
All my pain, all my pain, my suffering and pain.
David found Him by the brook while he was gathering five stones,
Elijah found Him in the desert when he thought he was alone,
Moses found Him on the mountain when God wrote upon the stone,
When he came down, oh how his face shone.
But I found him on my knees out in the pouring down rain,
I found Him in my need, in the middle of my pain,
All my pain, all my pain, my suffering and pain.
It has been my personal experience that God is where you are, and in our times of greatest need, when we cry out to Him, He answers us.

The land is thirsty, the land is dry,
We cannot shed a tear Lord when we cry,
Oh let the rain come down, oh let the rain come down.
My soul is thirsty, my spirit is dry,
I need some living water or I will die,
Oh let the rain come down, oh let the rain come down.
Let the rain come down, let me dance and sing,
Let the rain come down, quench this thirst in me,
Oh let the rain come down, Lord let the rain come down,
Oh let the rain come down, let it pour, give me more of you.
My soul is thirsty, my spirit is dry,
I need some living water or I will die,
Oh let the rain come down, oh let the rain come down.
Oh let the rain come down,
Let it pour, give me more of you.
Let the rain come down, let me dance and sing,
Let the rain come down, quench this thirst in me,
Oh let the rain come down, Lord let the rain come down,
Oh let the rain come down, let it pour, give me more of you.
Our land needs to have a spiritual awakening, we need to be more mindful of God. We need His Spirit to rain down on all of us.

Harmonies: Carolee Mayne, Gina Brown
Drums: Steve Buchanan
Bass: Dan McMillan
Lead: Mark Coulter
Recording Facts: Yes, that is Carolee Mayne coming in on some of the harmonies, but alas half way through the recording session we developed a funny noise in the board (it was a bad cord). We salvaged what parts she sang and added them to the final mix. Gina Brown came in and finished up the remainder of harmonies at a later time.
I Would Fly Across The Mountains
I just want to lay down by your side,
I just want to feel your touch,
Girl I love you deep inside,
I love you so much.
Ooh girl you know I love you,
Let me tell you how I feel,
Ooh girl you know I love you,
I know this love is real,
I know this love is real,
Cause I would fly across the mountains,
I would swim the raging sea,
I would walk through the fire babe,
If that's what you ask of me, if you ask of me.
Oh babe you know I love,
Let me tell you how I feel, (oh I feel so fine)
Oh babe you know I love you,
Until the end of time,
Until the end of time.
When you call out my name,
I'll come running for afar,
When you call out my name,
I will come to you, I will come to you.
Oh girl you know I love you,
Let me tell you how I feel, (Oh I feel so fine)
Oh girl you know I love you,
Until the end of time, till the end of time.
I would fly across the mountains,
I would swim the raging sea,
I would walk through the fire babe,
If that's what you ask of me, if that's what you ask of me.
A love song

Let me tell you where I love to spend time,
Let me tell you where I find true peace of mind,
Let me tell you where I run time after time,
When I'm looking for the heart of God I'll tell you where I find,
Down at the altar, my friends all around,
Down at the altar, tears flowing down,
Down at the altar, on bended knee,
Down at the altar where Jesus meets me.
I remember when I was a child,
I walked before my God tender and mild,
I recall the Sunday evening preaching style,
Oh I'd run up to the altar to pray for a while.
Years have gone by, but I still love His name,
People come and go but He's always the same,
Through trouble and trial, through so much pain,
Oh its good to know that some things never change.
Written for my good friend Debbie. It was an awesome sight, as we led worship, to see you down at the altar. It reminded me of the days of my youth when I spent so many hours, and tears, kneeling and praying at the old mission church's altar. P.S. Thanks for being there when I needed a friend.

Hey, hey listen here,
I want to make it very clear,
That the rain is going to fall and the wind will blow,
Jesus said it and that is why I know,
That it don't matter who you are,
Or if you drive a real fine car,
or if you live in a million-dollar home,
You have to build your house upon the stone,
If you are to weather the storm.
He did not say storms would not come,
Although you are a chosen one,
But this one thing He said, "that you will stand,"
Unlike the man that built upon the sand,
Unlike the man that built upon the sand.
I said, "Jesus is the stone, Jesus is the stone,"
Jesus is the stone I've built my house upon,
The rain is coming down,
I hear the wind, it's blowing,
The storm is all around,
But I will stand my ground.
If you've built your house upon the sand,
It's not to late to take a stand,
And change your residence today,
Leave it there, just turn and walk away,
One day it will all pass away,
But Jesus is the life the truth the way.
I said, "Jesus is the stone, Jesus is the stone,"
Jesus is the stone I've built my house upon,
The rain is coming down,
I hear the wind, it's blowing,
The storm is all around,
But I will stand my ground.

Recording Facts: Yes, it is a blast from the past. All of the original members of Crossfire did this recording. The ending is a little rough but I liked the song enough to overlook that one glich. Hmmm...guess that's what we need to do with one another.
Do You Listen To The Prophets? (Listen)
Do you listen to the prophets,
Or are you just slightly amused,
All through the ages the true prophets,
Has been ridiculed, scorned and abused,
He's been ridiculed, scorned and abused.
But I think this is God's way to keep him humble,
Because a hard hearted man would be no good,
And I think it's why prophets stumble,
They cannot take all the evil words,
Spoken about them.
Christ said beware when all men speak well of you,
But I guess that don't mean noth'in anymore,
Because men still flock to hear the pillow prophets,
And it sounds so good, they always go for more,
Well it sounds so good they always go for more,
Well it sounds so good they always go for more.
God still has some true prophets,
And if your look'ing I'll tell ya where to find,
They'll be out there wandering in the wilderness,
The only place they can get true peace of mind,
It's the only place they can get true peace of mind.
Do you listen to the prophets,
Or are you just slightly amused,
All through the ages the true prophet,
Has been ridiculed, scorned and abused,
He's been ridiculed, scorned and abused.
But I think this is God's way to keep him humble,
Because a hard-hearted man would be no good,
And I think it's why prophets stumble,
They cannot take all the evil words,
Spoken about them.

You can be wealthy,
Have this world's goods, and God too,
You can be wealthy, and you can believe a lie.
I will seduce you, if you'll only listen to me,
I will seduce you, and make you believe a lie,
And make you believe a lie.
Seduction of the Christian mind,
Are you growing oh so blind,
That you cannot see what's creeping in the back door,
Seduction of the Christian mind,
Are you growing oh so blind,
That you cannot see what's creeping in the back door,
Ooh don't you listen, ooh don't you listen, ooh don't you listen.
You can be wealthy,
Have this world's goods, and God too,
You can be wealthy, and you can believe a lie.
Are you listening to a man who is saying you can have just exactly what you want?
What happened to the scripture that says, "be content with the things you've got"?
Ooh don't you listen, ooh don't you listen, ooh don't you listen.

Nighttimes darkest hour is just before the dawn,
And when you feel like giving up,
That's when you've got to be strong,
When friends despise and forsake you and you feel like you're loosing the game,
you're gonna loose the game,
You've got to get down on your knees,
Claim the victory in Jesus name.
When David was a young boy,
He had long curly hair,
Took care of his daddy's sheep,
Spent a lot of time in prayer,
One day he heard about Goliath talking bad about the God he loved,
Oh how David loved,
Well he went down to the brook,
Knelt down and asked for help from above.
Victory in Jesus, victory in Him,
Jesus won the victory over hell, death, and sin,
Victory in Jesus,
Satan went down in flames,
Victory in Jesus,
Victory in Jesus Name.
Jonah was a run'in,
He was run'in from the Lord,
He crawled up in a boat but they threw him overboard,
And then along came a big fish, swallowed him down in one bite, one big ole bite,
That's where he spent three days and he spent three salty nights.
The great men of the Bible got noth'in over me,
I know where to go, to get the help I need,
When there's a mountain I need to move,
When there's a giant I need to slay,
I just get down on my knees and claim the victory in Jesus name.

This song won 1st place in the 2000 Worthy Music Contest. This song is more that some cute turns of the pen, it sprang from real experiences of great turmoil that caused me to cry out to God and find the victory in Him.
