His Witness                                                                               November 16, 2003

"You will be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard" Acts 22:15

The most important aspect of a Christian's life is their personal testimony of Christ.  What He did for them, how He did it, and what changes have transpired in their life as a result.  Every Christian has a testimony to give, and they need to deliver, with precision, those things that they have both "seen and heard."

We are not called to be defense attorneys; those who build cases in order to defend our cause.  We are not called to be prosecuting attorneys; those who build cases to prove guilt.  And we are not called to be judges; those who watch over the proceedings to ensure that all is done in accordance with the law and then pronounce the ruling.  No, we are called to be His witnesses; to speak the truth of those things that we have personally seen and heard.

Witnesses are not allowed to give circumstantial evidence, nor are they allowed to speak on behalf of another, they are however allowed to speak to those things that they have first hand knowledge of.  The most exhilarating aspect of a believer's life is when they allow the Holy Spirit to work through them in this way.  "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you: and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:7

Your personal testimony is God's chosen method of expanding His Kingdom here on earth.
